Pietro Librizzi is a Sicilian born artist based in Rome. Graduated from Goldsmith College in 2016 with a BA in Fine Art he is the founder of the project space caspiena microcentro in Petralia Soprana. His paintings often appear in the shape of visual metaphors in which real-life entanglements mingle with oddities and the atemporality of dreams. The depicted sceneries propel the viewer into a story happening while we look, a story beyond the canvas that is suggested but is also left to imagine depending on one’s individual alphabet of paradigms. Whether it is two clouds kissing, an invisible enemy or a cinematic creche-like scene, Librizzi’s pieces arouse its audience, suggesting tangible sensations such as a desire to enter the frame as Mary Poppins.
PS could stand for ‘party synthetic’, ‘personal statement’, ‘please silence’, ‘psss’, ‘post scriptum’ or whatever just came to your mind. We choose post scriptum out of infinite descriptive possibilities as it possibly embodies them all. P.s: an interview or a rebus? a composition of portraits and wiretaps? a map of hints suggesting a wide web of interpretations.
